I have recently begun painting with watercolors. I am studying with Julie McGlone,

and have learned so many new things. We have done watercolors with paints, wine, tea, and coffee.

Another technique we have used is to make pen and ink drawings with watercolor over it, which is my favorite form so far. We have also learned several variations on doing batik, with hot wax and watercolors.

This little dog was my first attempt at watercolor painting.

Where's the beef?

These are batik.
The design is drawn with wax on rice paper,
or stamped on with a copper batik tjap, then painted with watercolors.

It is a fascinating process and lots of fun to do.
